Since you know your own story, you are often able to keep loving yourself despite the things you do. Since God knows everything about us, He is able to understand what led up to our bad behavior, and He loves us anyway. He loves us in the midst of our bad behavior, because He knows what led up to it. This is the first key to knowing the heart Given all this, Paul then writes our key verse: “ We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God ” ( 2 Corinthians 5:20 ). For early Christian readers, an “ambassador” was someone who represented one state or land to another. God gave it to him to show his servants the things that must happen soon. Being a child of child of God, means we have been born a second time into God’s family. God loves me, and proved this by allowing Jesus to take the punishment for my sin. God is my father in heaven. God will look after me as his child. He will provide for me, teach me, discipline me and help me to grow and become a mature Christian. The fear of God is the basis for our walking in His ways, serving Him, and, yes, loving Him. Some redefine the fear of God for believers to “respecting” Him. While respect is definitely included in the concept of fearing God, there is more to it than that. A biblical fear of God, for the believer, includes understanding how much God hates God’s omniscience means that He can never learn anything new. Nothing can surprise Him or take Him unaware. He is never blind-sided! You will never hear God say, “I didn’t see that coming!” or “Who would have thought?”. A firm belief in God’s omniscience gives the Christ-follower extraordinary peace, security, and comfort in every Meaning and Significance. Imago Dei, or Image of God, means in likeness, or similarity, to God. Humans are created with unique abilities, absent in all other creatures of the earth, that mirror the divine nature of God.
